How It Works

Denise Austin Burn Fat Fast Cardio Dance and Sculpt is an energetic exercise routine with 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of sculpting. Warm up at the beginning for 5 minutes and cool down at the end.

Who It's For

This is really a workout for everybody because the dance party portion doesn't require any real skill, just lots of energy. In Denise's own words, "there's no wrong way, just keep moving." You need 2 to 5 pound weights for the sculpting section.

What To Expect

Denise's bubbly personality is take it or leave it; either you like her or you don't. But one thing that's certain is that she knows how to put together and effective workout.

The 20 minute cardio routine is fun and sure to have you work up a sweat. Although the cardio is enjoyable, it's not the most intense, which is why the sculpting session fits right in. The 20 minute strength training session works your entire body. She combines lunges, leg lifts and arm raises. There are simultaneous lunges combined with curls and overhead presses using weights.

The criticism I have of this video is that Denise's instruction does lag the in cardio routine. The cues are a little off beat, and I think it can be attributed to an air of "your steps don't have to be perfect, just get a good workout." That being said, this is a good DVD if you want to feel like you've gotten a complete body workout without feeling drained or pushed too hard.
