Fast Food Dieting:
Fast food typically doesn't belong in your diet if you're trying to lose weight, but as long as you make the right choices, an occasional trip to a fast food restaurant shouldn't hurt. If you eat fast food, limit your calories within 400 for the meal. Choose from the restaurants and foods below to pick your meals within 400 calories.

Placing a limit on your fast food meal will allow for spreading your calories out during the day. You don't want to starve yourself all day for a 1000 calorie fast food meal. For example, if you're on a 1200 calorie diet, eat 300 calories for breakfast, 300 calories for lunch, 400 calories for dinner, and 200 anytime snacks.

The premise of The Fast Food Diet by Sinatra is that you can eat fast food everyday and still lose weight as long as you stay within 1500 calories a day.

While it is true that you can lose weight eating anything as long as you stay within defined calorie limits, you have to consider the amount of saturated fats, trans fats, sugars and cholesterol in your food.

With The Fast Food Diet, you may be able to lose weight, but depending on how healthy your fast food is (i.e. Subway vs. McDonald's) you could end up thin but also unhealthy and lethargic. Be wise!

Many fast food restaurants offer pamphlets that underline the the calories in fast food served there. If you want to eat something that is not listed above, take a look at the nutrition pamphlet when you go to make sure that you are staying with the caloric range.

I don't recommend a fast food diet, certainly not one that includes fast food for every meal. It is fine if you want to eat fast food on occasion, but for the best results, stick to unprocessed foods, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
