Foods That Burn Fat
Boost Your Metabolism With The Help of Food

While you make the effort to exercise on a regular basis, foods that burn fat can boost your metabolism.

Diets high in fiber and protein are essential to weight loss. Your body burns more energy digesting fiber and protein than it does sugar or fat. Here are some other categories of foods that burn fat:

Milk and cheese Dairy

Dairy may play an important role in weight loss. Yes, dairy products are considered a fat burning food. According to an article in Obesity Research, people with a diet rich in dairy products lose weight at a faster rate than those with a diet lacking a sufficient amount of dairy. The calcium and protein found in low fat diary promote weight loss and help maintain your muscles.

Wheat Whole Grains

Whole Grains such as wheat, oats, rice, corn, rye, and barley in their whole form provide a better source of antioxidants, B Vitamins, iron, and fiber than their processed counterparts.

You may wonder what "whole" means anyway.

According to the Whole Grains Council, whole grains are the entire seed of a plant and have 3 parts: the bran, the germ, and the endosperm. Refining removes the germ and the bran, which contains about 17 key nutrients and 25% of a grains protein.

When you're at the supermarket, don't choose refined, choose WHOLE because whole grains are a food that burns fat and helps regulate your appetite and blood sugar levels.

Beans Beans

Beans are low in fat and high in fiber, antioxidants, and protein. According to research published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, compared to those who don't eat a significant amount of beans, bean consumers had better body weights and waist circumferences. They had lower blood pressure, and higher intakes of fiber, potassium, magnesium, iron and copper. People who eat a lot of beans also had a 22% reduced risk of being obese.

When choosing your beans, stay away from the refried and baked beans in a can. Refried beans are loaded with extra fat and baked beans have too much sugar. It's best to cook your beans from scratch. Beans from scratch are healthier and I've found that they taste better too.
