HCG Diet

The HCG diet was developed by a doctor who discovered that a hormone found in the placenta of a pregnant woman’s body could help people lose weight. That hormone is called HCG.

The HCG diet consists of HCG injections and a 500 calorie diet. The average person loses 1 pound a day. Each round of treatment lasts a minimum of 26 days, with 23 of those days requiring a daily injection of HCG. The maximum number of days is 43 (with 40 injections), unless a patient loses 34-40 pounds before the allotted time has passed. Patients don’t receive HCG injections for the last three days of any treatment period so that it can cycle completely out of their bodies before they resume a normal diet. (It also takes about three days for HCG’s effects to “kick in.”) After about 40 injections, your body develops an immunity to HCG and requires a break.

Once the HCG kicks in, it helps the body release long-stored fat which provides the body with the calories it needs to keep moving. As long as fat deposits are being released for use, the 500 daily calories being ingested is said to be enough to sustain you without the cravings and feelings of hunger you would normally experience on an extremely low calorie diet. If you are taking HCG injections and are on a 500 calorie diet, here are some tips to help you make it though your treatment.

1.  Consume a multivitamin daily.

2.  Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

3.  Make sure you get some routine exercise and aren’t sedentary.

4.  Don’t shop while you feel hungry. You may be tempted to buy stuff you shouldn’t eat.

5. Take a fiber supplement if your diet doesn’t supply the recommended 30 grams.

A diet similar to this weight loss plan was developed and marketed byKevin Trudeau and has worked for some people.
